As people head out to enjoy festive celebrations, we urge everyone to pause and think about their actions, so that we can all make it home safely this Christmas. No family should ever face the heartbreak of a knock at the door to be told their loved one has suffered life changing injuries because of a disagreement and one punch. The festive season should be a time of joy and celebration, yet we know that alcohol related incidents can all too easily turn a night out into tragedy. That’s why we are supporting the Home Office’s initiative (Winter of Action) with officers out on patrol across busy hotspots. There will be an increased presence of officers working closely with licenced premises in pubs, clubs, and bars across the festive period.
